Dubai - Ajman is gearing up to build a sophisticated international airport in Al Manama area.

Construction of Ajman International Airport is scheduled to start by 2008 at a cost of Dh12 billion, according to a statement issued during a meeting in Ajman, attended by His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman.

The airport will be built in six stages, said the statement.
