MUSCAT -- In supporting the Sultanate's drive to develop leaders of tomorrow, Zawawi Executive Service (ZES) participated in the first Career and Training Fair held at the Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences (WCAS) recently. The WCAS fair helps identify potential candidates for training and placement from a large talent pool of promising students.

"Omzest's ZES programme has been created to ensure broader and more challenging job opportunities for the youth, and to teach aspiring youngsters the fundamental principles of working in the private sector. Every Management trainee will undergo a rigorous year of classroom, on-the-job and off-the-job training before graduating from the programme," said C N Rao Rane, Chief Executive Officer, Amiantit Oman.

ZES personnel were on hand to meet every enthusiastic job seeker and interact with them on various career options at the fair. Scores of students, especially those graduating this year, submitted their CVs, expressing a keen desire to work at Omzest. M M Khan, General Manager, Sadolin Paints, avers, "The ZES programme is targeted at Omani Engineering/Science/Management/Commerce (fresh or with maximum two years' experience) graduates having good communication skills, a winning attitude, quick learning faculties and good analytical capabilities.

"Selection for the programme is based on a four -stage process with initial screening based on academic performance in their chosen disciplines of graduation, followed by an aptitude test, group discussion and finally through a personal interview." On successful completion of the training programme, the Management Trainees will be suitably employed in participating companies, based on their aptitude and interest as well as performance during the training programme.

Group companies participating in the Training Program-me include -- Amiantit Oman, Areej Vegetable Oils & Derivatives, National Heaters Industries, Reem Batteries & Power Appliances Company, and Sadolin Paints Oman.
