Proceeds from auctioned artwork to go to Dubai Cares

Dubai, Sunday, October 21st, 2007:  Zabeel Investments is adding a creative twist to its donation to 'Dubai Cares', auctioning artwork displaying the handprints of Al Maktoum family.  The handprints of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and his sons were taken during a ceremony yesterday at Emirates Towers.

Amina Taher, Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Zabeel Investments said: "The overall response to Dubai Cares so far has been both generous and heart warming.  In support of the campaign, we wanted to inject some creativity into our donation and hopefully encourage others to do the same."

She added: "Dubai Cares is about motivating people to make a difference and our hope is that the auction of Al Maktoum family handprints will capture the imagination of the public and provide them with a fresh impetus to be a part of the scheme in an original and artistic way.

"CSR is not just about giving money; it is about involving whole communities; families and businesses in initiatives that inspire."

The Dubai Cares initiative was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to educate 1 million underprivileged children in poverty stricken countries.
