HP Imaging and Printing Group Celebrates 4Millionth Printer Mark by Going Gold
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 20, 2006, 2006 - To celebrate the arrival of its four millionth LaserJet printer in the Middle East, HP Imaging and Printing Group is displaying a fully gold plated unit of a LaserJet printer. The sparkling printer being displayed at the HP stand at GITEX is the HP LaserJet P2015. HP has shipped 100 million LaserJet printers worldwide since 1984.Amin Mortazavi, Commercial Core Business Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East said: "We are extremely proud of this achievement and hence showcases this beautiful display of the Gold printer at GITEX. The milestone represents HP 's history of quality, reliability and innovation. Since 1984, HP has pioneered personal laser printing with the introduction of the first LaserJet printer. Since then HP LaserJet printing solutions have changed the way people conduct business, communicate in the office and market products and services. Our constant focus on delivering customer-centric innovation has lead to many industry firsts from the introduction of network printing to the first printer-based multi-function device and now to the world's smallest LaserJet printer."
Innovations such as Web Jetadmin and Universal Print Driver further demonstrate HP leadership. HP has come a long way since the first LaserJet was shipped in 1984. Back then, it was printed on bold 8 ppm with a two minute wait for the first page out. Today with the HP LaserJet P2015 a comparable printer, spits out 22 ppm, the first page appearing in 8.5 seconds with Instant-on Technology.
