Sharjah: Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority (Sewa) announced the completion of the new 132 KV Moeileh Substation at the Industrial Area 13. The new substation cost Dh100 million, including costs of civil works, supply, and installation and commissioning of the equipment.

The substation is expected to achieve better network stability and reliable power supply in Sharjah, in order to meet the projected surge in power demand. Dr Rashid Al Leem the Chairman of Sewa pointed out that the construction of the substation comes in line with the vision of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohamad Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to further strengthen Sharjah’s infrastructure and service facilities as per the highest international standards.

He added that it is a part of Sewa’s initiatives to meet the requirements for electrical power and distribution. The Moeileh substation comes in line with the development expansion program initiated by Sewa to meet the requirements of the ongoing economical, industrial and constructional boom in the emirate He noted that as per Sewa projections, the growth rate of power demand in Sharjah is substantially increasing each year.
