MUSCAT -- Omantel, the pioneer integrated telecom service provider in the Sultanate, announced the launch of the Unified Communication Solution for its corporate customers through Microsoft SharePoint & Microsoft Lync as well as the revamped Email Hosting service. The Unified Communication solution enables corporate customers to enhance their business and ensure better communication among staff in a simple and secure manner.
Commenting on the launch, engineer Adel al Awadhi, Manager Communication Solution at Omantel Business Unit said: "This technology aims at making communication easier and safer between employees within and across organisations. Microsoft Lync provides state-of-the-art communications capabilities, including instant messaging, audio/video conferencing and a rich online meeting experience including web conferencing. One of the main benefits of Lync is that it assists organisations in increasing productivity through the varied collaborative tools it provides.
'The service is available in two packages, the first is the Basic package, and the second is the Ultimate package. The two packages provide instant messages, audio and video calls through the Internet, desktop and file sharing. The basic package is available for RO1.9 per user per month and the ultimate package which includes audio and video conferencing is available for RO 3.8 per user per month, he further said.
As for the Omantel Microsoft SharePoint, Al Awadhi pointed out that: "It is a unique service that enables staff within an organisation to accurately and quickly respond with information that is gathered from different sources within the organisation, making it easier for them to share, manage and gain access to important information, from creating formal documents such as annual reports and contracts to gathering client information, and publishing internal announcements, the possible uses of this creative solution are limitless. Moreover, the security features of SharePoint allow employees to work from more places and on more devices with a browser, while they're on the go."
'The Microsoft SharePoint service is available in 3 packages; the first provides 1 GB for RO 9.1 per month.
The second provides 3GB for RO 12.8 per month as for the third package which provides 5GB goes for RO 16.6 per month.
