Al Ain: The UAE University (UAEU) announced the appointment of its new provost yesterday afternoon upon the departure of the current provost, Professor Wyatt Rory Hume.
Professor Mohammad Yousuf Hasan Baniyass role as Provost will become effective at the end of the month. He currently holds the position of Associate Dean of Medicine at the institution.
Weve announced a new provost and weve gone with an internal choice and its a national, Professor Mohammad Yousuf, Associate Dean of Medicine, said Dr Abdullah Al Khanbashi, Vice-Chancellor of UAEU.
At this university we always search internally and externally for recruits and Professor Yousuf is fully qualified and has been at the university for a long time; hes as good as anyone else we would have brought from outside.
