NEI embarks on capacity expansion
MUSCAT -- National Electrical Industries (NEI), a leading manufacturer of switchgear products, has added advanced panel enclosures to its manufacturing portfolio, while enhancing its overall capabilities through the establishment of an automated powder coating plant complete with a nine-tank pre-treatment process. The capacity expansion and additional features give NEI complete control over its entire product line and manufacturing processes. In addition to ensuring quick throughput, the enhancements also enable in-house panel fabrication and painting, thereby helping the custom requirements of clients in the shortest possible time.
"These improvements increase local value addition and also enhance employment of Omanis in skilled areas. This is in line with His Majesty's vision and directives towards the creation of more job opportunities for skilled Omani nationals," the company said in a statement. With the newly installed machinery and powder coating plant, NEI is now capable of manufacturing switchgear panel enclosures starting from sizes as small as distribution boards for domestic purposes to panel enclosures for major installations. The powder coating carried out in-house is designed for any paint colour. The painted parts are polymerised in two electric furnaces.
NEI's portfolio of switchgear products include main distribution boards, sub main distribution boards, AMF-panels, synchronising panels, metering panels, distribution boards, feeder pillars and intelligent motor control panels. The products cater to a wide spectrum of applications in power distribution, instrumentation and control equipment.
