Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: 6 January 2016

Tamkeen has signed an agreement with Mowgli Foundation to launch entrepreneurial mentoring services under the umbrella of Tamkeen's Advisory Services. The agreement is part of Tamkeen's continuous efforts to support enterprises and individuals throughout their developmental phases.

Under the agreement, Mowgli will train and match mentors with Bahraini entrepreneurs to support them in developing their businesses further and making the best of Tamkeen's various programmes. The mentoring will also help entrepreneurs to innovate more services and products to expand and develop their businesses.

Mowgli Foundation will coordinate the mentoring program and process, selecting and training mentors and entrepreneurs in line with specific international standards. Fifteen institutions will be serviced in the pilot phase, during which Tamkeen will monitor the entrepreneurs' progress and level of development.

The agreement is part of Tamkeen's Advisory Services, which offer mentoring as well as career and professional guidance to individuals and enterprises. Tamkeen is planning to expand these services in partnership with a number of stakeholders, experts and professionals.

Commenting on the announcement, Tamkeen's Chairman, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa said: "Tamkeen is committed to supporting companies and institutions throughout their developmental stages, empowering them to positively impact Bahrain's economy and the growth of the private sector."

He added: "Mowgli Foundation is known for its leading role in mentoring businesses as well as its work with major companies and institutions in Europe and the Middle East. This will make Mowgli Foundation a valuable partner of Tamkeen and the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is our pleasure to cooperate with them on this initiative, which will contribute to the creation of a progressive environment for entrepreneurship in Bahrain, giving an opportunity to small and medium-sized enterprises to gain the experience and knowledge needed to achieve growth and development."

Commenting on this agreement, Kathleen Bury, Mowgli CEO said, "Mowgli remains committed to empowering entrepreneurs as drivers of economic growth and we are glad to begin operations in Bahrain with Tamkeen to support Bahraini entrepreneurs. Our organisations share the same goals of developing the private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic development"
