Regional business development specialist William Moroney joins company as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer as company looks to build on group-wide leadership focus on design and implementation of sustainable growth strategy

The Transguard Group has announced the creation of a new executive level position to support the company's future sales and growth strategy, naming William Moroney as its first Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.

An Irish national, Moroney brings with him extensive international business, sales and marketing expertise plus 15 years' senior leadership experience in the Middle East, covering a wide range of industry verticals including banking and finance, the public sector, telecommunications, oil & gas, aviation and healthcare.

Commenting on the appointment, Transguard Managing Director John Nolan said: "In order to maintain the momentum of our long-term business development strategy we identified a need for group-wide sales and marketing leadership from a strong regionally-experienced individual who was ready to take on the challenge."

In addition his reputation as a ground-up specialist with proven success in growing the business pipeline and developing highly effective sales and marketing teams, adds a new element of dynamism to our senior management group."

Previously Middle East Regional Sales Manager for Hewlett Packard Financial Services, Moroney was instrumental in setting up and spearheading operations at the company's regional office. In his new role Moroney will focus on the company's strategic growth plans, building on its current business development successes to create a world-class sales and marketing operation that will enable the Transguard Group to realise its three and five-year revenue goals.

Moroney will assume direct responsibility for segment strategy, client relations, market competitiveness and pricing, and will also drive the group's customer, retention, acquisition and revenue goals.

His other regional career highlights include positions as Regional Manager MEA & India for leading government and enterprise commercial software and services provider Daon, where he was a founding team member, and as Country Manager for Misys International Banking Systems, where he managed the sales function in Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE and Yemen following the company's acquisition of Kindle Banking Systems. 

"William's long-standing Middle East experience and multi-client exposure to all facets of sales and sales management, especially with respect to large commercial and government clients in the GCC, will really come into play as we identify new market opportunities in 2015 and beyond," remarked Nolan.

Moroney also holds a business degree from the University of Limerick and, in his spare time, is a member of Toastmasters International and keen golfer.
