Mobily deal boon for schools in Eastern Province

Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced the signing of a three-year contract, through its subsidiary Bayanat Al-Oula, to provide schools in the Eastern Province with broadband Internet services.

The contract will guarantee high-reliability Internet services for targeted schools, and will contribute to a facilitated communication with the Ministry and Directorate of education.

Marwan Al-Ahmadi, Mobily's CBO, stressed that the "Broadband @ work" service which was offered to Eastern Province schools is greatly appreciated by the business sector. This is because it is easy-to-use and installation via (plug and play) facilities. The device can be used in any area with a WiMAX network coverage.

Al-Ahmadi thanked the Education Ministry officials for their trust in Mobily's products and giving it the opportunity to be the leading provider of Internet services. This step is a very important to shift toward smart schools that are equipped with the latest communication technologies in the world, he said.

It also enhances the professional working environment within schools.

The press release said Mobily was a pioneer in operating both the 4G and WiMax networks. Its services are known for high reliability and quality across the Kingdom. It has also merged the "4G" and "Wimax" together, in collaboration with major wireless telecom companies and global infrastructure .

Mobily has recently announced the addition of new cities and districts to its WiMax service. They include Hail Al-Taif, Khamis Mushait, Wadi Al-Dawaser and Al-Mujamaaa.
