ABU DHABI, May 20th, 2013 (WAM) -- The Ministerial Council for Services chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Services, during its meeting held on Sunday, was briefed on the UAE bio-security strategy by Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water and Chairman of the National Committee for bio-security, which is an integral national strategy to ensure state-of-the-art protection from the risk of biological agents.

The strategy focuses on containing the threat of biological hazards, and ruling them out before, during and after any occurrence. The strategy aims to reduce the risk of biological agents, which includes building capacity to detect biological hazards and to develop the capacity of the state in dealing with accidents and biological threats.

The Council was also briefed on a report of nationalisation in the Federal Government sector for the year 2012 presented by Humaid bin Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of Federal Authority for Government Human Recourses, which includes the results of the implementation of the nationalisation plan in the Federal Government and agencies, and the percentage of nationalisation in these authorities.

The report highlighted the challenges faced by federal ministries and bodies when applying nationalsation plans throughout 2012, and the main recommendations to overcome the difficulties.

The Council approved the project to develop and improve the performance of human resources departments in the Federal Government, which aims to identify the competencies and technical skills for human resources departments and the development of their staff as well as linking the application of initiative with the human resources award scheme and the development of a mechanism by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources to expand the scope of inter-departmental knowledge transference.
