Major PDO presence at GEO 2012

MUSCAT -- Petroleum Development Oman ( PDO ) is participating in the 10th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition which is being held in Bahrain from March 5 to 7.
Themed "Shaping the Future of Geo-science in the Middle East" the event is held under the patronage of Dr Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa.
PDO 's 60-strong delegation of geologists, geophysicists and petroleum engineers are presenting a large number of technical papers which spotlight the complex geological make up of Oman's reservoirs while showcasing the Company's efforts in seismic exploration, reservoir modelling and other technical areas.
The biennial event is attended by major global oil and gas operators and industry service providers to jointly seek new approaches to overcome energy challenges. "The need for co-operation between oil and gas companies is steadily increasing in view of their endeavours to bring massive production projects on line in shorter times to meet the increasing demand for hydrocarbons globally," said Intisar al Kindi PDO 's Exploration Director.
"The conference provides a unique platform for us to share our understanding of the complexities of our reservoirs, as well as to benefit from the expertise of other oil and gas companies that may encounter similar geologies. Moreover the conference comes at a time when the world is increasingly looking to the Middle East as a significant source of supply for its burgeoning energy supply" said Suleiman bin Mohammed al Mantheri, PDO 's External Affairs and Communications Manager and added "our 138 square metre exhibition stand is expected to play an important role in showcasing PDO as an employer of choice".
