Muscat: In an attempt to strengthen the bonds between the Omani and Korean communities and identify the economic, urban and cultural development witnessed by the Sultanate in various sectors, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) hosted a student delegation from the Republic of Korea on Wednesday.
The programme was part of the student delegation's field visits to a number of government and private organisations in the Sultanate.
During the visit, the Korean students were briefed on the vision and aspirations of PEIE to attract industrial investments and provide continued support through region and global competitive strategies, good infrastructure, value added services and investment-friendly government policies.
PEIE officials also stressed on the vital role it plays in promoting Oman as an active and leading regional centre of manufacturing, ICT, innovation and entrepreneurship excellence.
The officials also presented an overview on the types of investments in various industrial areas supervised by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates as well as Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).
The Korean delegation discussed issues relating to the main business activities undertaken by the establishment, and how to plan an effective strategy to attract foreign investments within the industrial areas in the Sultanate.
The student delegation expressed their happiness over their visit to the Sultanate, and especially PEIE's hospitality. The students stressed on ulitising the growing investment opportunities in Oman and the Gulf region.
The students also hailed the facilities and services provided to the investors within the industrial estates in the Sultanate, and expressed their admiration for the ongoing development projects in the various sectors in the country, including energy, industrial building, IT and urban modernisation.
