Iraqi government revealed on Monday, the engagement of new armed factions in the national reconciliation project, indicating that the factions asked not to declare their involvement in media.
"The new armed factions have been engaged recently in the national reconciliation project and was submitted by the leaders of the factions who have previously been involved in the national reconciliation project," Adviser to Prime Minister for national reconciliation affairs, Amer al-Khozai told "Shafaq News".
"The involved factions represent areas south of Baghdad, specifically Madayeen to Azizia and Kut in Wasit," he said.
Amer al-Khozai declared earlier, that three thousand elements of the armed factions have joined the reconciliation project since its start.
It is worth mentioning that the actual steps for national reconciliation project, begun after the tribes' coup against al- Qaeda, which was moving in a number of areas, particularly in what is known as the Western areas and the formation of the "Awakening forces" in 2006, which succeeded to some extent in returning security to those areas.
