BAGHDAD, Jan. 5 (AKnews) - Iraq's Transport Ministry has officially agreed for the Iranian Wadi al-Bar Company to refurbishing 50 Iraqi trains.   

The spokesman for Iraq's railways, Jawad Khorasan, told AKnews that the company will repair the trains as well as maintenance the workshop at Samawa.

The Transport Ministry is trying to improve the country's railways and trains so that Iraq is connected to the world's largest land way which links the Mediterranean, Gulf and eastern Asian countries.

Earlier the Ministry announced it spends 72 billion IQD ($62 million USD) to pay its employees even though its annual revenue does not exceed 12 billion IQD ($12 million USD).
