Belgrade - A Serb military expert Micha Jiovinovich said that the capability of the Islamic Republic of Iran in tracking, controlling and directing the US radar-evading (stealth) aircraft challenged the most secret and most expensive aviation project of Washington. "Violating Iran's airspace by US ultra modern spy aircraft is a hostile and provocative measure against Islamic Republic of Iran and it should be dealt with in accordance with the international law," Jiovinovich told IRNA in an exclusive interview.
He noted that the US has lost billions of dollars because of the fact that its sophisticated RQ-170 drone has been captured by Iran.
"Since the Swiss Embassy in Iran takes care of the interests of the US interests in Iran, the Swiss ambassador in Iran should give sufficient guarantees for preventing similar measures in the future and the United Nations should condemn the US measure for the sake of peace and stability of the region and the world," the Serb expert added.
He pointed out that it goes without saying that the targets of the US drone also included oil refineries, oil and gas reservoirs, airports and industrial units, but the Iranian experts by capturing the US drone made the US face a very bad defeat making the US spy drones inefficient.
On Sunday December 4, a US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft crossed Afghanistan's border into Iran, but was downed with minimal damage by Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces electronic warfare unit when flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 225 kilometers away from the Afghan border.
