Private cos, govt agencies participate
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: The 14th Housing Fair Exhibition opened Monday at the Regency Kuwait Hotel with most of the leading companies engaged in building and construction, materials supplies, equipment and services taking part in the four-day event organized by UNIEXPO in cooperation with the Kuwait Society for Engineers. Engr Ali Abdulkarim Al Fozan, Manager, Public Authority for Housing Welfare inaugurated the event in place of Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs as well State Minister for Housing and Development Affairs, who was reportedly indisposed due to pressing commitments. Stated objectives of the exhibition are: Introduction of modern building materials; Highlight leading trends in global construction and contracting services; Raise awareness about housing concepts and constructional errors; and Highlighting the role of the private sector in helping solve housing issues. This year's event saw the participation of 64 private companies as well as government agencies like the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Electricity & Water and Kuwait Municipality.
