Ericsson among one of the top 15 employers in the country

Great Place to Work® recognizes Ericsson as one of the 'Top Companies to work for in the UAE' for the third consecutive time

Ericsson UAE has been officially recognized as the 2nd best employer in the UAE at the 2015 Great Place to Work® awards ceremony that was held recently in Dubai.

Ericsson climbed two places, compared to last year's official 'Top Companies to Work for in the UAE' list.

The list is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute UAE, part of a global research, training and consultancy firm that recognizes the best workplaces in over 50 countries. The official list, published in the March 16 issue of Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East magazine, is a ranking of the nation's 15 best employers based on confidential feedback from employees and an audit of management practices.

"At Ericsson we pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic work environment which encourages our employees to strive for improved performance and superior results. We want to inspire our staff to apply their ideas and insights in order to empower our customers, the business and society as a whole," said Girish Johar, Vice President, Human Resources, Ericsson Middle East.

"Our employees are at the heart of our business, and we are proud to be recognized as one of the 'Top Companies to Work for in the UAE'. I would like to thank all the highly motivated people at Ericsson for, once again, making this amazing accomplishment a reality," said Victoria Strand, President, Ericsson GCC and Pakistan.

This is the third consecutive time that Ericsson has been named one of the Top Companies to Work for in the UAE. The company was ranked 6th and 4th best place to work in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

To pick the 'Top Companies to Work for in the UAE', the Great Place to Work® Institutes conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The remainder of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.

Commenting on the Top Companies list, Ron Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Great Place to Work® Gulf, said: "Congratulations to all 15 companies that made it onto our 2015 list. The standard of HR programs we evaluated this year is the best we've seen since we introduced the program five years ago. Those companies that retained or improved their position on the list need to be applauded as this was the toughest level of competition yet. The top 15 list makers truly understand the value of investing in their workplace cultures and the results show in both their business and people performance."
