Crackdown to ensure integrity of national telecom networks
Dubai: More than 27,600 illegal telecommunications devices have been seized by federal inspections teams within the UAE, federal authorities said on Wednesday.
The confiscated devices have been handed over to the Economic Department in Dubai, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said in a statement.
The measures were taken to protect the "telecommunications market in the UAE from the use of unsupported telecommunication devices which are non-compliant with the specifications", the TRA stated.
