• Government property organisation to showcase its latest applications including 'Your Info' and 'Investment Map'

• Event gathers more than 500 professionals from the government and private sector

Dubai - Dubai Land Department (DLD) is participating for the first time at GISWORX 2015, the largest and the most significant GIS (geographic information systems) user gathering in the region.  Taking place at the Al Bustan Rotana Dubai from April 21-23, GISWORX 2015 comprises a host of workshops and networking opportunities that will see 20 government entities, 40 companies and more than 500 professionals join together for the programme's annual gathering.

DLD's participation at the event will see its Technical Department showcase its new 'Your Info' system, which has been designed to facilitate the collection of all real estate information in a single system, including map, plot number, landlord and tenant details, and other necessary information.

"We are very proud of our technical developments and look forward to the opportunity to present these to professionals at important platforms such as GISWORX 2015, with DLD's Your Info system being one such advance. Exhibitions such as this enable our specialists to share ideas and allow the department to learn about new initiatives taking place at the global level, meaning that we are able to keep up with the latest developments that are vital to aspects of our operations," said HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General, DLD.

Your Info makes it easier for DLD employees to obtain all relevant information relating to any property in Dubai, using a fast and realistic picture. Although the use of the system is currently limited to DLD employees, there is a study to open the system in the future to licensed users, including other Dubai government departments.

The 'Investment Map' is another system that DLD's Technical Department is displaying at GISWORX 2015. The modern, three-dimensional application provides satellite images for the DLD website and is compatible with mobile devices and tablets. The aim of the map is to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy through the provision of an integrated system for investment opportunities.

"Our participation in such conferences as GISWORX 2015 is vital in order for us to exchange experiences with elite experts in the field. In addition to that, it affords us an unrivalled opportunity to highlight our many achievements to the world," said Mohammed Khoder Al Dah, Director of the Technical Department, DLD.

GISWORX 2015 serves as a forum for government departments private companies to participate and offer their services in the field of geographic information systems. DLD will be using the event to showing maps of Dubai, maps of geographic information system development areas, and maps of villas and apartments. It will also be demonstrating its mapping system known as 'Jobtracking.'
