Abu Dhabi: With the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Congress fast approaching, IIR Middle East today announced the confirmation of Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipal Affairs as the official patron for the event.

The esteemed patronage of the Department of Municipal Affairs, which is the main focal point of all municipal planning for the Abu Dhabi emirate, brings with it new highlights to the Congress programme, including the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City's showcase of upcoming infrastructure development opportunities for the Khalifa City A and B and Mohammed Bin Zayed City projects.

This exciting new development underlines the importance of the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Congress as a key meeting place for all of the key stakeholders in the infrastructure development that will support the delivery of Abu Dhabi's Vision 2030.

New speakers include H.E. Eng. Abdullah Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Municipal Infrastructure and Assets for the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City who will be joining an impressive speaker faculty including H.E. The Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Congress is the only high level strategic infrastructure Congress which focuses solely on Abu Dhabi and covers a broad spectrum of infrastructure sectors including transport, utilities and social infrastructure, and allows for a comprehensive overview of how the emirate's infrastructure plans interrelate. It will bring together key decision makers from the key government entities charged with developing essential infrastructure for Abu Dhabi along with expertise from leading international developers, engineering contractors, legal advisors and financiers.

The Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Congress, presented under the Patronage of the Department Of Municipal Affairs, will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi from 25-27 September 2011.  For full details visit: www.iirme.com/infrastructureabudhabi
