As a joint effort between the two entities, the agreement is aimed at raising the status of women leaders and encouraging them to assume senior managerial positions at the workplace - resulting in the growth and development of various industries while reflecting positively on the economic and social sectors and security of the UAE, specifically Dubai.

The MoU was signed Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai and H.E. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairperson of the Board of Dubai Women Establishment.

As part of the MoU, the two entities will work together on a number of initiatives directed towards the continuous development and engagement of working women and implementation of a number of common policies to the same effect.

Through this MoU, both entities are looking forward to gathering feedback from experiences of various women holding supervisory and managerial positions, in addition to benefitting from knowledge sharing. Further, the two institutions will also participate in international forums and global events related to women's leadership to gain more exposure and highlight the evolving roles that the Emirati women are playing on both regional and international levels.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai, said, "Given the important role working women play in the public sector, especially those holding senior roles at the decision-making level, we strongly promote women empowerment and are constantly striving to encourage women to reach their maximum potential on a professional front. The agreement will help both the institutions achieve their common goals in helping women overcome the obstacles they face at the workplace. This in turn is set to create a positive effect in terms of the performance of various government bodies as a whole."

"Under the direction and support of the UAE government, today Emirati women are playing a vital role in raising the overall status of the country. This MoU will further reinforce the role of the UAE women in contributing to the government sector by providing them an environment where they can work hand in hand with men and are appreciated and respected for their caliber -which is also DWE's primary focus. I would like to express how pleased we are to sign this agreement, which is set to be mutually beneficial for both DWE and General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs and will definitely contribute to the growth and development of the country," said H. E. Mona Ghanem Al Marri.
