AMMAN (JT) -- CNBC Arabiya on Saturday started broadcasting a series of programmes on Jordan's economy one year after the global financial crisis. The channel, which is the Arab World's only 24-hour Arabic language financial and business information channel, will cover for five consecutive days the development and the challenges of the industrial sector as well investment opportunities available in the Kingdom.

Yarub Qudah, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Jordan Enerprises Development Corporation, said the programmes will discuss the country's economic situation transparently and introduce business environment to investors, adding that the channel will cover in the future economic activities in the Kingdom including the international investment conference which will be held in Jordan next month. Meanwhile, CNBC Arabiya CEO Steven Hall said during a press conference to announce the launch of the series that the channel will increase its coverage of Jordan as an important emerging market in the region.
