Al Hanoo Holding said it has commenced construction on its Warehouses City project, set within Emirates Industrial City in Sharjah.

Earlier this year, Al Hanoo Holding completed the infrastructure works for the Emirates Industrial City (EIC) project. Engineering staff is monitoring the project to ensure that it is delivered to investors on schedule.

Sheik Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Al Hanoo Holding and Emirates Industrial Cities Chairman, said: "Al Hanoo Holding will continue to develop the project because the company is keen on delivering the project on scheduled time and ensuring all modern international and industrial standards are applied throughout the various facilities of the project.

"Last but not the least, we aim to establish a stable for specialised cities, especially industrial ones, which are unique across the country and the region."

The investment size at the Warehouses City exceeds Dh2 billion. The Warehouses City will stretches over an area of 20 million square feet of EIC project land, which in turn covers an area of 83 million square feet.

It is divided into eight districts, two of which have been specified for warehouses and logistic support, and includes 4,000 warehouses. These warehouses are to be developed in two stages, where the first stage, scheduled for completion within 15 months, has 2,000 warehouses ranging between 2,500 and 4,000 square feet.
