Muscat: For the third consecutive year, AbdulRazak Ali Issa, chief executive officer of Bank Muscat, has earned a prominent position among the world's 500 most influential Arabs. In recognition of outstanding contributions to the banking and financial sector in Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, AbdulRazak was ranked in 'Power 500 - The world's most influential Arabs' listing by Arabian Business magazine.
Commenting on the achievement, AbdulRazak said: "I am honoured to be reckoned for the third time among the most influential Arabs. I owe this achievement to the valuable opportunities made available to Omanis by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. The success of Bank Muscat stems from the Renaissance progress and development of the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and I am proud to have been associated with the bank in its quest to emerge as the flagship financial services provider in Oman."
AbdulRazak, who has over 37 years of leadership in the banking sector, assumed the role of Chief Executive of Bank Muscat in 1994. He was named the Arab Banking Personality of the Year 2012 by the Arab Banking Union and voted as the 'Banking and Finance Personality of the Year' at the 3rd Middle East CEO Awards 2006 and the Best CEO for 2002 by Business Today magazine.
Ever since assuming the role of Chief Executive, AbdulRazak's vision and focus have been to introduce the finest global banking practices in Oman through Bank Muscat, thereby raising its stature as the premier financial institution in the Sultanate. A highly respected figure in the nation's financial sector, AbdulRazak continues to lead Bank Muscat from strength to strength. Under his stewardship, the Omanisation level at the bank is presently above 93 per cent.
