Chairman of the Bahrain British Business Forum (BBBF) Khalid Al Zayani yesterday conferred life membership of BBBF on Dr Esam Abdulla Fakhro, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce (BCCI).
Khalid Al Zayani was accompanied by the British Ambassador to Bahrain Jamie Bowden who presented the BCCI with an honorary BBBF lifetime membership yesterday to mark the recent MoU between the two organisations.
The ceremony was part of a meeting between the BBBF and BCCI, which took place at the BCCI headquarters.
Zayani, Dr. Fakhro and Ambassador Bowden discussed various ways to encourage joint ventures between the UK and Bahrain.
"Our two organisations share a deep-rooted mutual interest in building long-term partnerships and joint ventures that will help sustain and grow our economies," said Al Zayani.
The key focuses of the discussion include areas where British companies can take advantage of Bahrain's strategic position as a gateway to the Gulf region, as well as manufacturing businesses that utilise energy and natural resources available in Bahrain and at the same time contribute to developing the local Bahraini skilled workforce.
"We will continue to target key areas of commerce where we have complementary skills and I look forward to more BCCI members joining the BBBF to help us achieve our shared goals," added Dr Fakhro.
