Phase II of land plots replacement to start upon the expiry of period given (from 1 April to 1 June)

Abu Dhabi, 20 April 2015:

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has renewed calls to citizens interested in replacing their land plots at Wathba North with new ones at Shamkha South to visit the Head Office of the Municipality, or any customers service center to complete replacement procedures.

The Municipality has set the timeline fixed for citizens to complete the land plot replacement procedures starting from 1st of April up to the 1st of June 2015.

Once the fixed replacement period expires, the Municipality will immediately embark on Phase II of land plot replacement in respect of other Sectors. The Head Office and all External Sectors stand ready to receive citizens interested in replacing their land plots and offer them every facility to complete a flexible procedure in a short time with minimal procedures.

  Owaidah Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Acting  Executive Director at the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said: "This project stems from the keenness of the Municipal System to contribute to the stability of Emirati families in keeping with the directives of our prudent government. It also marks the Municipality's continuous efforts to ensure decent living for them, and provide an array of services enabling suitable living at the standards set by Abu Dhabi Government. It also echoes the commitment of the Municipal System to citizens through providing suitable localities for residence and living and accordingly contribute to the stability of the family and the community.

"Replacing land plots at Wathba North with others at Shamkha South was a result of the availability of all ingredients of infrastructure and integrated services at Shamkha South; which would accelerate the process of building & urbanization and accordingly cementing the social fabric and family bonds.

Director of Lands and Real Estate, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, said: "The Municipal System is making serious efforts to provide suitable services to citizens and offer them the choice of keeping their land plots at Wathba North or move to Shamkha South; which is an optional matter not binding to anyone.

The replacement of land plots is fixed within a specific geographical zone comprising 3814 land plots spanning 49 sectors; namely: NW16 , NW17, NW26 , NW27, NW18 , NW19, NW28 , NW29, NW5 , NW6, NW7 , NW8 ,NW1, NW2 , NW3, NW4 , NW35, NW36 , NW37, NW38, NW44, NW45 , NW47,  NW46, NW39 , NW47, NW115 , NW116, NW49 , NW50, NW51, NW54, NW55 ,5616, NW57 , NW9 , NW10, NW11 , NW20, NW21 , and NW22.

"The service can be availed at all customers service centers at external centers as well as the Head Office of the Municipality at Sheikh Zayed Street.

"The Municipality is keen on maintaining the rights and privileges of citizens in terms of specifications of the land plots replaced. Interested citizens can replace their land plots at Wathba North will get land plots with identical features in terms of specifications, location, and area as much as practicable.

"In selecting the sectors and targeted land plots, the Municipality adopted the seniority (precedence) principle in acquiring the land plot in order to do justice in distributing and replacing land plots at Shamkha South," added

As for the procedures required to complete the replacement process, interested citizens are required to visit the Municipality's Head Office at the Sheikh Zayed Street, or any customers service center at external municipal centers, and sign an undertaking endorsing the replacement on the specified form in order to complete the procedure. Citizens are absolutely free to take or dismiss this step, as the entire process is optional and non-binding, only intended to avail an opportunity to citizens interested in benefiting the completed utilities and infrastructure to construct their housing and building projects earlier.
