Muscat - An agreement is due to be signed here tomorrow for the establishment of a network of four shopping and commercial hubs in key locations around the Sultanate. Total investment in the four centres, which will each be named 'Chinese Commercial Town', is estimated at RO 84 million. It follows a partnership pact between China Commercial Town and Guangzhou Dongyong Construction & Engineering Co for the operation of these outlets planned to be established in Barka, Suwaiq, Al Buraimi and Raysut.

Saif al Salhi, representing China Commercial Town, and Guo Yaojta of Guangzhou Dongyong Construction & Engineering Co, will represent their two sides at the agreement signing.

The commercial centres will showcase a wide array of Chinese consumer products, electronics, sports equipment, construction materials, electrical goods and other consumables. In addition, the Barka and Raysut outlets will include restaurants and amenities catering to families.

"This new project opens further prospects for business cooperation between the private sector in the Sultanate of Oman and China in an initiative that will create nearly 3,000 job opportunities for citizens," China Commercial Town said in a statement.
