Dubai-based outsourcing company, TASC, last week launched an online portal that provides temporary hiring services across the United Arab Emirates.

The company said in a press release that the service is aimed at businesses who need additional staff to meet peak season demand, or require short-term staff to fulfil a short-term project or temporarily fill vacancies.

TASC said the portal is “the first-of-its-kind” in the region. It said users will be able to browse through a dedicated website to choose pre-screened candidates, who are ready-to-be-employed in sales and administrative jobs in the UAE. Each candidate on the portal will have a video profile, TASC added.

“Within the region’s staffing industry, we are the first to digitalise the hiring process, and are absolutely elated with the launch,” Mahesh Shahdadpuri, CEO of TASC, said.

“In the UAE, temporary hiring is gaining momentum thanks to businesses’ need of scaling-up to meet peak season demand without adding long-term fixed costs,” Shahdadpuri added.

Hiring in the UAE and the wider Middle East region had slowed down in the first three months of the year, Gulf News reported in April, citing data from the UAE’s Monster Employment Index, which measures online recruitment activity using real-time vacancy postings on a number of career portals.

However, in July, Bayt.com was reported as stating that the hiring landscape is improving, stating that 20,000 new job vacancies had been placed by UAE employers between January and June this year.


In the UAE, IT-related jobs are the skills most in demand from recruiters, Gulf News reported last June quoting a study by GulfTalent, a jobs website in the Middle East.

Demand for recruiting Android developers surged from almost zero in 2012 to 20 percent in 2017. Searches for information security professionals rose from 4 percent of searches of all professions in 2012 to 9 percent in 2017. Searches for network engineers rose from 6 percent of all searches to 13 percent during the same period.
