Sharjah, UAE, April 15th, 2017

Sharjah Healthcare City (SHCC) and Arab German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GHORFA), have signed a landmark cooperation agreement. This agreement will establish ties and extend cooperation in promoting the Sharjah Healthcare City project situated in Emirate of Sharjah. GHORFA will assist in promoting Sharjah Healthcare City in Germany and other European countries.

The cooperation agreement was signed in line with the 10th Arab German Health Forum in Berlin between H.E. Abdulla Ali Mahyan, Chairman, Sharjah Healthcare City and Abdulaziz Al Mikhlafi, Secretary General, GHORFA Arab German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This agreement aims further strengthen cooperation in healthcare sectors that support the authority’s endeavors and to ensure that its healthcare services are provided by the best and most advanced international experts.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Abdullah Al Mahyan, said, “This landmark cooperation agreement further strengthens our commitment to providing excellent healthcare services in Sharjah. The agreement with our partners, GHORFA aims to support the SHCC’s vision of attracting the healthcare industry’s most respected entities into UAE through Sharjah Healthcare City. We expect this agreement to further elevate Sharjah's position as a formidable player in the global healthcare sector”.

GHORFA will also identify key investors for the SHCC and work in partnership with the authorities to foster the cooperation between Sharjah and Germany in the healthcare field. In order to further promote and encourage the promising cooperation between German and Arab partners in the health sector, GHORFA, together with high profile partners from Germany and the Arab World, hosted the 10th Arab German Health Forum in Berlin. Renowned German and Arab health experts from business, politics and science discussed current trends and projects in the Arab countries and Germany.

The SHCC Chairman emphasized that the SHCC and GHORFA have exchanged a number of views about the existing healthcare system in both countries and have agreed on mutual cooperation in several key areas. To this end, this agreement is aimed at strengthening relations and cementing several core partnerships. One of the main strategic objectives of SHCC is always to partner with international counterparts to share the knowledge, best practices and human resource.

The SHCC implements its various healthcare projects in the light of its carefully researched strategy aimed at creating an excellent healthcare sector backed by the latest international experts in various healthcare areas, consistent with the unlimited support received from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

SHCC was formed in March 2012 under the directive and vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, with the objective to transform and enhance the regional healthcare service industry. SHCC offers healthcare related investment opportunities in the healthcare sector in Sharjah.
