Dubai: High population growth along with increased life expectancy and easy access to medication through health insurance has resulted in the rising demand for medication. Rather than importing medicines, the focus is now on investing in local pharmaceutical manufacturing companies to cover the local market as well as build opportunities to export to other regions.

The MENA Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Congress taking place in Dubai from 23 to 25 March 2015, will discuss the most pressing topics related to this industry, include creating regulations to encourage foreign investment in this sector and support local players, examining the current status of the GCC pharmaceutical market and identifying the possible roots of registration for GCC companies, and examining problems facing GCC companies including registration time frames and presenting possible solutions for these problems, and more.

The leading congress is a strategic platform for policy makers working to stimulate the pharmaceutical industry, overcome the key challenges, set up a strategic plan to protect the industry from foreign competition and raise the quality of medicines to reach global standards, and will bring together key local players from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE and the rest of the MENA region.
