Tehran - Since three years ago when President Hassan Rouhani took office in Aug 2013, the export of the petrochemical products has increased by 46 percent.

According to the latest report, the production of the petrochemical products has also improved by 14 percent during the mentioned period.

After taking office, President Rouhani's government paid due attention to development of the petrochemical industry, which plays a pivotal role in reducing raw material expoert and creating value-added in the country.

Over 55 million tons of petrochemical products have been produced in different industrial units during the said period. 

It is also predicted that the figure could hit 61.5 million tons once new plans become operational.

As per the latest anticipation, the production of petrochemical products would reach 54,600 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year on March 19, 2017.
