Khimji Ramdas Social Development Arm, Eshraqa recently facilitated a training programme for the SME Development Fund – an entrepreneurial initiative by the Partners for Development geared towards optimising SME growth. The training forms part of Eshraqa’s objectives under Community Wellbeing – which is among its three key founding pillars after Health and Education. Eshraqa Entrepreneurship Academy in partnership with the Khimji Training Institute (KTI) conducted the two-day ‘Train the Trainer Programme’ for Omani trainers from the SME Development Fund.

Commenting on the initiative, Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “We are committed to assisting the government in its plans for unlocking the potential of the SME sector in Oman and helping it grow into a major contributor to Oman’s economy. It forms part of our central focus as Khimji Ramdas Social Development Arm and is the core of our philosophy to create more resilient, economically productive communities in Oman. The SME sector has been found to have a profound impact on a country’ growth because of its massive potential,and we are keen to support every initiative that strives to develop the sector and integrate it with the economy’s overall progress. This training programme, therefore, was designed to equip members of the SME Development Fund with the right tools for entrepreneurship and enterprise.”

Thanking Eshraqa and KTI for their support, Mr. Raphael Parambi of the SME Development Fund said, “We are immensely grateful to Eshraqa and KTI for imparting crucial training to our trainers at the SME Development Fund. Gaining the support of an important CSR outfit like Eshraqa and the expert training of KTI helps to increase the reach of our plans for the SME sector and also helps to accelerate the achievement of our goals for the sector’s progress”.

The programme was facilitated by Nadeem Ahmed, who has over 24 years’ experience training, consultancy, coaching and mentoring with corporate houses, colleges, universities and schools in Oman, the GCC and India.
