A delegation from Emirates Post Group’s 1st Postal Zone recently visited the ‘Wahat Al Karama’ Memorial in Abu Dhabi, which has been constructed as a tribute to the sacrifices made by UAE people to position the country as an international symbol of tolerance, coexistence and hospitality, in line with the vision of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and his directive to ‘commemorate the names of those who sacrificed their lives in the performance of their national duty to keep the UAE flag flying high.’

Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Alashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, said: "The EPG visit was to recognize the sacrifices made by the people of the UAE in the line of duty in defense of their motherland. We salute the martyrs’ heroism which stands out as a beacon and a source of inspiration for others.  The Wahat Al Karama brilliantly commemorates the many wonderful examples of giving, courage, heroism and sacrifices of the UAE people.”

The delegation toured the Martyrs’ Monument, which consists of 31 massive aluminum-clad panels symbolizing the nation’s unity, harmony and strength.

The delegation included the Director of the 1st Postal Zone, and a number of employees of the Zone and Abu Dhabi Central Post Office. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the different sections of the Wahat Al Karama site, including the Memorial Plaza, the Martyr's Monument and the Pavilion of Honour.
