Corrects headline and first paragraph to remove reference describing the tower as the tallest building on Palm Jumeirah.

Construction on the One Palm residential tower on Dubai's Palm Jumeirah has reached the third floor and is on target to open in 2018, the developer behind the project said on Monday.

The building, which is located on the left trunk of Palm Jumeirah, has reached 16 metres above ground level, with the concrete slab frames for the first fifteen floors due to be in place by the end of this year, developer Omniyat said in a press statement.

Set to open in 2018, One Palm will consist of 90 residences and the surrounding resort will include a clubhouse containing a restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, outdoor cinema and BBQ area, cigar lounge, yacht club and spa facilities.

Brookfield Multiplex was appointed as the main contractor on the project in March.

Omniyat is a Dubai-based private developer which has built up a portfolio worth over $6.2 billion since it was launched in 2005.
