Implementing quality management standards improved productivity by 37 per cent, says survey

Dubai, March 7, 2016: Smartworld, an Etisalat and Dubai South company, has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification for Quality Management Systems, reflecting the company's strong commitment to ceaselessly work toward delivering the best quality services to its clients across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Designed to be easily integrated with other management systems and help organizations perform in new ways according to changing customer expectations, the ISO 9001:2015 has been introduced recently and Smartworld is one of the first organizations to be awarded the certification from DNV GL, a leading global certification agency.

According to a report by Centre for Economics and Business Research, implementing quality management standards has shown more than 37 per cent productivity growth in the UK.

Companies that applied quality management standards, according to surveys, have shown optimization of compliance with regulations, higher innovation and also improvement in supply chain.

Smartworld achieved its first certification  for ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) in  2009, following which it continued to upgrade its certification ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015, in its endeavors toward continuous improvement and upgradation.

The earlier versions of ISO 9001 were more prescriptive, with many requirements for documented procedures and records. Smartworld has now gone a step further, and ISO 9001:2015 is even less prescriptive than its predecessor, focusing instead on performance.  The company achieved this by combining the process approach with risk-based thinking, and employing the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle at all levels.

Continuing its journey to excellence, Smartworld is now targeting to add another credit to its excellence by getting certified with OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) which will help Smartworld and its projects and services in an even more secured and organized manner.
