FM company cited for environmental initiatives and their positive impact on the community

UAE, February 16, 2016

Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities, environment and energy management solutions in the GCC, has won second place in the 'Environmental Protection' category of the 8th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) instituted by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The award is the latest addition to Imdaad's string of prestigious honors for its environmental sustainability and protection efforts in line with the UAE's environmental goals and objectives. The FM company received the recognition in a special awarding ceremony held recently.

In conferring the award, the panel of judges cited Imdaad's key initiatives and their positive impact on the organization, individuals and society as a whole. Some of these programs include air, noise and material pollution reduction; use of biodiesel as an alternative fuel; optimized fleet management solution; vehicle sound emission testing and monitoring; tire rethreading and recycling; and lubricant recycling.

The firm is also renowned for using eco-friendly equipment and prioritizing sustainability across all its operations. As such, it conducts regular recycling training for its clients, corporate partners, and staff, in addition to providing free recycling bins in certain projects where it handles waste management and collection.

Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, said: "Our RTA-DAST award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to contribute to the government's environmental sustainability and protection initiatives. We have aligned our programs accordingly to demonstrate our active participation in the nationwide efforts to address relevant environmental concerns. Our programs have led to many milestones and positive results, further inspiring us to create more innovative ideas. We extend our gratitude to the panel of judges for this new recognition as we vow to remain steadfast in our environmental goals."

Imdaad has pioneered environmental sustainability in the Facilities and Environmental Management industry and is among the first to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 (Environmental Management) certificate as early as 2006. It has also been certified for ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSAS) 18001 standards since 2006.

Imdaad, which provides unmatched and world-class turnkey solutions to its clients, initiated several environmental protection measures in 2014 for its more than 200-strong fleet of waste management vehicles in Dubai. The objective was to drive environmental and transportation sustainability by implementing initiatives that would make the fleet more environmental friendly through air, noise and material pollution reduction.
