Twelve sectors are set to benefit from 50 per cent wage payments to Bahrainis from July to September.

The decision was issued today by Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan.

The sectors include training and rehabilitation (including kindergartens), retail sector (excluding foodstuff), travel and tourism, restaurants and hospitality, personal services (salons, gyms and entertainment), local newspapers and magazines, administrative services (public relations, media and event organisers), industrial, health, transportation, real estate and engineering, technical and construction offices.Those excluded include the financial sector, telecommunications, scientific, professional and technology activities, plus private universities and schools.

"All employers getting this support will commit to paying wages in full, without any cuts whatsoever, after receiving the payment in the fourth week of the month," said the Minister.

"The list has been provided to the Social Insurance Organisation to make the necessary arrangements."
