ArabFinance: Government-backed National Bank of Egypt (NBE) opened a new branch inside Irshad Building in Ismailia, according to a January 5th official statement.
The NBE also signed a follow-up cooperation protocol with Suez Canal Authority (SCA).
The new banking facility will offer basic and developed financial services for the SCA workers, being enhanced with modern digital technologies.
Fees for entering the SCA affiliated tunnels can be electronically collected through the NBE point-of-sale devices, the statement noted.
Revenues from Suez Canal, meanwhile, have reportedly declined by 3% Year on Year in 2020.
