DUBAI - Union Coop has launched ‘Khair Zayed’ initiative that will see the distribution of 370 Iftar meals a day, throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Marketing Department said, "This Year of Zayed, we will ensure that the founding father’s vision of a good valued nation based on a happy community is fulfilled. Union Coop works in a systematic manner when it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives so that we benefit a maximum number of individuals in the community. We dedicate this particular initiative to the memory of the founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan."

Al Bastaki added, "The meals will be distributed to the staffs of Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Police General Command, Dubai Civil Defence Authority, General Department of Organisation Protective Security & Emergency, Al Amal Hospital and Al Sahaba Centre for Quraan Memorisation. Union Coop is sponsoring and supporting three other initiatives during the holy month, which aims to provide Suhoor and Iftar for up to 32, 000 fasting people."

The company has allocated AED 75 million towards the reduction of prices for about 15, 000 consumer and food products during the holy month.
