Dubai - Pioneers in holistic education, Global Indian International School (GIIS), is continually committed to the all-round development of its students. Global Indian International Schools now announces their first-ever Global Student Summit for their students across campuses. The first edition of the Global Student Summit will be held for students across the GIIS Dubai and Abu Dhabi campuses and then will go on to be eventually open to non GIIS students as well.

So then, what is the Global Student Summit? The student summit will focus on topics and issues that matter most to the students of this generation. For the year 202 GIIS Global Student Summit will focus on SDG 2030, the UN defined sustainable development goals for 2030.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals laid out by the UN to be achieved by 2030, GIIS is focussing its efforts to contribute towards Goal 4 – Quality Education. Global Schools Foundation takes social responsibility very seriously, and they firmly believe that future global citizens should be socially responsible. GIIS believes that the journey begins with awareness on the subject and an in-depth understanding of the world around them through exposure at an impressionable age. Pioneers in holistic education, GIIS is always introducing fun and effective means to teach students qualitative life lessons outside of classroom learning.

Amol Vaidya, Sr.Director, Global Indian International School, UAE says, “Global Schools Foundation which runs GIIS schools in ME promises to ‘ Nurture Global Citizens’. With this objective this initiative has been planned. We will promote values of openness, inclusivity, environment-friendliness, and sensitivity among students. Through a series of  innovative and research-backed ideas and activities, students will learn to collaborate and empathize with the people and world around them.”

The Global Student Summit will be the first-ever cross-campus initiative towards the fulfilment of SDG 2030 by GIIS. The Summit will include a variety of workshops, competitions, debates, and activities across subjects ranging from inclusivity to entrepreneurship that GIIS students from different parts of the world can participate in. Through this initiative, they also aim to aid in raising awareness about and the fulfilment of other goals like - Gender Inequality, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Peace.
