Dubai, UAE - A series of interactive events and seminars will be held at the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE), organized by the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), part of the General Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council, the three-day event and exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from 9-11 April 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The exhibition, which will be held under the theme of ‘Government Practices: Global Achievements’, will host a number of international speakers from prominent research and academic institutions and will witness local, Arab and international participation from various government agencies concerned with achieving excellence in government performance.

Enhancing the concepts of future industry and smart governments

Dr. Ahmad Al Nusairat, Coordinator General of Dubai Government Excellence Program said, the exhibition has addressed many important topics in the field of government excellence through its activities in the last few years.

“The various events at the exhibition reflect the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in opening new horizons in the fields of excellence, innovation in government sector. The events that were held during the previous exhibition sessions have deep impact in various fields that fall within the framework of government excellence and development,” he said.

“We continue to work on developing the concepts of government work and advancing it to unprecedented levels of excellence, creativity, and innovation, which will contribute to raising the competitive indicators of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular globally.”

Dr. Nusairat said that the exhibition has benefited from its rich experience in previous years. He pointed out that the exhibition will focus on the concepts of future industry, artificial intelligence, and smart governments, where specialized knowledge seminars will be held to review the world's leading experiments in these fields. These specialized seminars will also discuss the latest and best governmental practices in the fields of government excellence, creativity, and innovation in government work.

Global interactive activities

The event will also include an initiative by government leaders from around the world, a forum for exchanging views and reviewing best practices in the fields of government work. The event also includes ‘Ask the Government Leaders’ initiative, that allows visitors to meet government officials and decision makers to ask questions and discuss on government performance, government services and innovations, as well as the ‘Platform for Communication’, which allows the participating parties to launch initiatives and sign agreements during the exhibition, as well as the Corner Innovation – a platform of innovation and invention from different sectors. The event will also recognize the success of government employees with awards for innovation in government sector as well as student innovators from schools and universities. The platform will display the innovations of staff and students to the visitors attending the exhibition.

The event also includes the ‘Brainstorming’ initiative, an interactive platform that brings together senior officials to discuss the most important topics that contribute to the development of government sector, as well as an interactive platform aimed at strengthening the relationship between the government authorities participating in the exhibition with their stakeholders: suppliers, partners and other entities that deal with government agencies on a regular basis.

In addition, the event includes an initiative in Dubai Learning that aims to promote a culture of organisational learning and training of human resources and teams in accordance with the latest international methods and tools in the field of institutional learning and knowledge exchange, improving government performance and applying best practices to enhance creativity and innovation and improve satisfaction and happiness.
