The Emirati airline has undergone major improvements in the last decade

Dubai – Mubasher: While being hit by a lot of lobbying in the US, aimed at putting an end to the GCC carriers’ expansion in the world’s biggest economy, Emirates is still favourable to Americans, according to a report released by YouGov.

Business travellers in the US consider the UAE-based airline as “best quality”, coming ahead British Airways, Delta, American Airlines, and Lufthansa.

The Emirati airline has undergone major improvements in the last decade, which enabled it to grow bigger than some of its competitors, the report found.

“What is notable is the diminishing gap between Emirates’ [YouGov] Index score and that of British Airways and Lufthansa, who were ahead by at least 10 points in 2014. That gap is now reduced to just 3 points.”

In the last year, a coalition formed by three US carriers (Delta Air, American Airlines, and United Airlines) has spent $50 million to hinder the growth of the GCC carriers’ presence in the States.

Finally, the anti-GCC airlines’ alliance settled to an agreement under which the UAE carriers pledged to up their financial transparency and halting any future plans to add fifth freedom routes.
