Manama, AGU: The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has recently completed the virtual personal interviews for new students from GCC States at the College of Medicine and Medical Science (CMMS) in the University for the academic year 2020-2021.

CMMS Dean Dr Abdelhalim Deifalla confirmed that the interviews committee was formed of 34 groups that consisted of professors at the College and students of the sixth year, explaining that the committee organised virtual meetings throughout the past two days, in which it measured the competencies of the nominated new students.

Clarifying further, Dr Deifalla said the students nominated for CMMS had previously taken the aptitude test remotely, where they underwent exams in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology, adding that they also took another test to measure their English language skills.

For his part, Students Affairs Dean Dr Abdulrahman Yousif Ismail stated that the first year students will begin their orientation programme on November 1-2, 2020, while lectures will commence on November 3, 2020.

Dr Ismail reaffirmed that the University is sparing no effort to provide an innovative learning environment that's enhanced with the latest technologies, in order to overcome the challenges created by the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

He added that AGU works according to an integrated system for this objective, in cooperation with the cultural attachés and offices of GCC States, aiming to draw a clear plan for new students during their scientific career over a period of six years, which is the period of studying in the College.
