Dubai – Sidra Capital’s strategy of focusing on income-generating real estate investments in core and core plus locations of mature markets has once again delivered on its return to investors. The company announced details of its real estate portfolio distributions for Q2 2020 which on average have exceeded an annual return of 7.5% for its investment in the UK and the US.

The company’s investments have continued to deliver consistent performance during 2020 despite the economic impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Today the company’s real estate investments currently represent Assets Under Management (AUM) of more than SAR 6 billion in cities such as London, Glasgow, Sheffield, Watford, Ohio, Chicago, and Amsterdam.

Sidra’s investments in the United Kingdom continued to grow, with total acquisitions in excess of GBP 1 billion. Meanwhile, in the United States, Sidra’s portfolio comprises 50 properties with total AUM of more than USD 750 million. These include industrial properties, student accommodation, and office buildings across the country. Having distributed over 7.5% cash-on-cash during 2019, the company is seeking to build on its success as it expands its operations to the west coast of the US by investing in similar properties.

“Despite the ongoing unprecedented uncertainty and continuous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen how resilient our portfolio is with our recent distribution. It’s encouraging to see investors from the UAE and the rest of the GCC continue to demonstrate confidence in our diverse real estate portfolio,” commented Hani Baothman, Chairman of Sidra Capital. “Although events such as Brexit in the UK have undoubtedly had an effect, the country’s real estate market remains very liquid and continues to attracts foreign and domestic institutional capital. This stability provides us with a solid foundation from which to continue our expansion plans and seek out rewarding new opportunities for investors.”
