• The Invisalign clear aligner portfolio, offered by Align Technology, will be showcased for the second time at the event

Align Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALGN), a global medical device company engaged in the design, manufacture and marketing of the Invisalign system, the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, and iTero intraoral scanners and services for orthodontic and restorative dentistry, is leveraging the growth opportunity to further build its presence in the region at the UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition – (AEEDC Dubai). The event is being held from February 5 to 7 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

The region’s largest dental event, AEEDC Dubai brings together all stakeholders in the industry and serves as a platform to highlight the most innovative solutions and technologies that drive the dental sector. This year, the event is being held under the theme ‘Education & Innovation Transfer.’

Mawlid Chaoui, Align Technology general manager, Middle East and Africa, said: “As the region’s largest dental event, AEEDC Dubai is a great opportunity for Align Technology to showcase our Invisalign product portfolio. It also gives us a chance to discuss the digitalization in orthodontics with dental professionals attending the event. Our goal as a company is to make our technology more accessible and available to more doctors and patients, and our clear aligner portfolio reflects that, with dedicated solutions for adults, teens and younger patients. We see a strong potential for further growth in the region, and I could not imagine a better platform than AEEDC to bring our solutions closer to dentists and orthodontists in the region”.

Align Technology has reported continued growth in EMEA region, including Middle East & Africa, where its clear aligner solutions are increasingly sought-after for advanced dental care. Align`s flagship clear aligner system, Invisalign treatment, helps to straighten teeth of teenagers and adults without the need for a brace. Today, over 6,1 million people worldwide have benefited from the technology. In 2018, Align also reached the significant milestone of shipping its one millionth Invisalign case in the EMEA region in 2017.

With its combination of the proprietary virtual modelling software, rapid manufacturing processes and mass customisation, the Invisalign system moves teeth in a gentle and predictable way. Clear aligners are removable, easy to clean and made of a propriatary material called SmartTrack, which differentiates the Invisalign system from traditional braces as well as alternative clear aligner offerings. Suitable for teenagers and adults alike, the Invisalign system helps address the majority of orthodontic problems such as overbite, under bite, cross bite, crowding and gaps between teeth.

Last year, Align Technology hosted its first MEA Forum – a dedicated event that enabled dental professionals from the region to share their experience in treating with the Invisalign system and to learn more about latest solutions from the Align portfolio.

Align Technology is home to one of the largest dedicated 3D printing operations in the world, creating approx. 359,000 units of custom aligners every day, and almost 471 million aligners manufactured to date. Invisalign clear aligners help move teeth without the use of braces, mini-screws or mini-implants. The technology has been gaining the momentum in the region as an alternative to traditional wires and brackets.
