ABU DHABI - The Museum of Moroccan Heritage at this year’s 'Morocco in Abu Dhabi' event, organised by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, is showcasing a large collection of historical artifacts and antiquities embodying Morocco's history and civilisation, which are being exhibited outside the Kingdom for the first time.

The Museum, which will run until 30th April at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, provides the visitors with an opportunity to examine Morocco’s ancient monuments linking the East and West, featuring 300 items, including an exclusive collection of Islamic manuscripts, Islamic coins, oil lanterns, Islamic ceramic utensils, monetary ornaments and equestrian tools, as well as an overview of a variety of Moroccan fine arts reflecting Morocco’s authenticity and historical depth.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehdi Qotbi, President of the Moroccan National Foundation Museums, said, "'Morocco in Abu Dhabi' reflects the deep and historic relations between the UAE and Morocco and their peoples, which are being widened through the values of tolerance and amity.

The event, he said, has seen tremendous success during the past three editions, attracting a wide audience from UAE nationals and residents. In that time, the Museum of Moroccan Heritage has received thousands of visitors.

For his part, Abdelaziz Al Idrissi, the Museum's Director of Morocco in Abu Dhabi, commented, "Each year, the museum gains greater popularity, a fact that underscores the high culture and artistic sense of Abu Dhabi and UAE nationals, residents and visitors alike. I observe their great interest in our exhibits, antiques, and artifacts, especially the rare collection of antiques and monuments that we are showcasing outside Morocco for the first time, embodying the heritage of civilizations and migrations that travelled across its land throughout ancient centuries."
