The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced that the country’s non-oil exports fell by 3.6% in August 2019 when compared to the corresponding period last year.

Year-on-year, total certificates of origin for Arab and foreign countries’ exports reached 837 at a total value of KWD 5.7 million during August 2019 from 532 certificates amounting to KWD 5.9 million, the ministry recently disclosed.

Total certificates of origin of Kuwaiti exports to Arab countries, excluding GCC countries, registered 211 valued at KWD 3.4 million versus 65 certificates of KWD 2.3 million of exports to foreign countries.

Moreover, Kuwaiti exports to the GCC countries hit 561 certificates at a value of KWD 6.2 million in August 2019, the ministry further added.

Jordan was the top importer of Kuwaiti exports among Arab countries, followed by Egypt, Iraq, Algeria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan, Yemen, and Palestine.

As regards the GCC countries, Qatar came in the first place in terms of importing from Kuwait, followed by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman.

As for foreign importers, Belgium headed the list, followed by France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Greece, the ministry highlighted.
