Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Commercial Properties (ADCP), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), announced the implementation of the Hassantuk initiative, a cutting-edge  life and property safety monitoring solution, across its portfolio of managed properties to ensure compliance to all safety requirements.

Hassantuk is a strategic smart city initiative by the Ministry of Interior aimed at revolutionizing the UAE’s ability to respond to emergency events, as part of the country’s goal to be one of the safest places in the world in line with the UAE Vision 2021. The respective Civil Defense Departments in each Emirate are responsible for overseeing the implementation of the initiative, in collaboration with both Etisalat and du.

Commenting on the Hassantuk initiative, Mohamed Binbrek, General Manager - ADCP said, “Caring for the safety and wellbeing of our tenants has always been our key priority. Building on a previous safety initiative undertaken by ADCP exemplified through the distribution of free fire blankets to tenants and the installation of Windows Child Locks throughout the portfolios of properties we manage, we will not stop short of achieving our unequivocal safety goals.  We now find another potential safety opportunity through our collaboration with Civil Defense Departments towards the fulfilment of the ambitious Hassantuk program designed and implemented to cover the UAE.”

With the aim of protecting lives and properties across the UAE, the scheme connects all buildings and properties to the Hassantuk Alarm Receiving Center (ARC) via the Alarm Transmission Equipment (ATE), which is installed in each building. In case of a fire or life threating event, the ATE will immediately send the alarm to Hassantuk, which verifies the received alarm. Upon verification, the alarm is automatically reported to the emergency services within seconds, providing them with situational intelligence and making their response more effective to keep the cities smarter and safer. Since the introduction of Hassantuk, more than 1100 buildings managed by ADCP were surveyed and close to 900 ATEs were installed.

The initial phase of ATE installation requires buildings across the UAE to be surveyed for suitability; suitable buildings will be scheduled to have ATE installed, while a rectification notice detailing the work required and timescales for this is issued for buildings needing repair or upgrade to receive ATE.

As part of the initiative, the Ministry of Interior has established a partnership with Injazat Data Systems to install and operate state-of-the-art smart ATE in more than 150,000 buildings across the UAE, excluding Dubai.

Other safety initiatives deployed by ADCP include the distribution of free fire blankets to all tenants once they renew their rental contracts. The fire blanket is designed to extinguish small fires that can be wrapped or smothered quickly before they spread and cause greater damage. ADCP also implemented a child safety programme, within their managed buildings, to install fall-prevention devices on residential home windows and balcony doors to curtail further incidents of young children falling from windows or balconies.
